Today Crain’s Chicago Business released its 2019 list of Chicago’s Largest Private Companies. For the eighth consecutive year Hearthside Food Solutions has been named near the top of this list, ranking as Chicago’s 16th largest private company, reflecting 101.9% growth over the previous year. First appearing on Crain’s list in 2012 at #44, the company has steadily grown, with 2018 revenues approaching $3 billion.
The food industry’s largest contract manufacturer, Hearthside Food Solutions, the quiet Downers Grove based company, is largely unknown outside of the food processing industry. “We serve many of the world’s finest food companies. While relatively few people may have heard of us, millions enjoy the high-quality products we produce every day,” said Rich Scalise, Hearthside’s Founder, Chairman & CEO. “We are pleased to once again be mentioned by Crain’s Chicago Business for our continued growth and success.”
Hearthside Food Solutions operates 38 food production and packaging locations across the US and Europe. The company is the industry’s largest producer of energy, snack, and nutrition bars, as well as a leader in cookies, crackers, baked snacks, USDA fresh and frozen foods and more. Founded in 2009, the company has grown from a four-location company into a multi-national food manufacturer with locations across the United States and four locations in Europe.
